Frequently Asked Questions
Can a complete beginner wakeboard?
Yes. Most of our first-time riders get up within their first session. Our instructors specialize in patient, step-by-step coaching from your first try.
Do I need my own board?
No. We stock boards, vests, ropes, and handles in every size. Bring your own if you prefer.
What's the minimum age?
We've coached riders as young as 6. The key is comfort in the water and ability to hold the handle. Call us and we'll help gauge readiness.
Is there a best time of day?
Morning is typically glassy and perfect. Evenings are also great. Midday works fine too, though the lake is busier then.
What should I wear?
Swimsuit, a rash guard if you have one, and plan to get wet. We supply the life vest.
Can I drive the boat myself?
No. Lake Lure doesn't allow rental boats to tow anything, so every ski, wake, and tubing trip includes one of our professional instructors at the wheel. Just show up and ride. We handle the driving, the gear, and the coaching, so all you have to do is enjoy the lake.
How much time should we book?
As a rule of thumb, plan on about 20 minutes per person per activity. A group of four who each want to wakesurf and wakeboard would book about 2-3 hours. Call us and we'll help you plan the right amount of time.
What is your cancellation policy?
To change or cancel at no cost, call us at (828) 625-8066 at least 48 hours before your reservation start time. A valid credit card holds your time. Inside that 48-hour window, we charge 50% of your reservation as a cancellation fee. Refunds don't apply because we never take deposits or charge in advance. You pay once your reservation is complete.
