Skip the Guesswork, Find the Fish

Lake Lure is a small, twisty mountain lake with pockets, points, and structure that reward local knowledge. Our guides have spent thousands of hours here and know where the fish move with the seasons.

Every trip includes rods, reels, tackle, and the boat. All you need is a North Carolina fishing license (which we can point you to) and some enthusiasm.

First-timer? We'll teach you to cast and set the hook. Seasoned angler? We'll put you on the structure you wouldn't find on your own.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a fishing license?

Yes. North Carolina requires a valid fishing license for anyone 16 or older. You can buy one online from NC Wildlife before you arrive.

What will we catch?

Most days it's largemouth or smallmouth bass, with crappie and bluegill mixed in. Trout show up in cooler water. Exactly what's biting varies by season and weather.

I've never fished. Is that okay?

Absolutely. Our guides love teaching. We'll cover basic casting, setting the hook, and landing a fish. You'll catch something.

Do we keep the fish?

Your choice. We practice catch-and-release with healthy fish, but you're welcome to keep anything legal within North Carolina regs.

What's the best time of year?

Spring and fall are excellent. Summer fishes well early and late in the day. Winter is quieter but trout can be active. Call us and we'll tell you what's working right now.

What is your cancellation policy?

To change or cancel at no cost, call us at (828) 625-8066 at least 48 hours before your reservation start time. A valid credit card holds your time. Inside that 48-hour window, we charge 50% of your reservation as a cancellation fee. Refunds don't apply because we never take deposits or charge in advance. You pay once your reservation is complete.
